SO. The “April” EP went up a few days ago. Just secretly. I’m gonna promote it more when it comes out on iTunes, it’s taking awhile to process on the iTunes store. But right now it’s on TopSpin only and so are all the rest of the monthly releases. Click that ridiculously long link to check it out.

ANYWAY. This song is called “Here’s to Goodbye”. I wrote it on a session in London. Originally I was going to shop it to another artist but I liked it a lot so I decided to keep it for myself. Thanks to Alex Smith who produced the song, and Billy Libby who got this mixed and mastered.

“Here’s to Goodbye”

I can hear the voices from under your door.
Quiet talk and laughter, then nothing more.
And on Madison street, people rushing past me
while I’m waiting on the lawn.
I count the minutes I wait in the same damn place
watching all the shadows fall.

Couldn’t see me.
Did you see me?

Kill the lights ‘cause it’s all over.
Lock me out,
don’t even wonder,
darling I’m fine.
Happy if you really love her.
See it when you hold her.
You said “Never say die,”
Well, here’s to goodbye.

Retracing paces, places, all those days that we spent.
Revisit all the bars and building where we once met.
And on a hotel bed, you held me and said
inside I had a light.
Now there’s a vacant space where you used to lay
at the end of every night.

Didn’t mean it.
Did you mean it?

Kill the lights ‘cause it’s all over.
Lock me out,
don’t even wonder,
darling, I’m fine.
Happy if you really love her.
See it when you hold her.
You said “Never say die,”
Well, here’s to goodbye.
